This is the RLSS UK National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches (NRASTC) Renewal - a one-day course for qualified swim teachers, coaches, and instructors whose NRASTC is due to expire.
The renewal includes a full assessment of knowledge and skills by an independent RLSS UK assessor. You'll refresh your supervision, rescue, CPR, and first aid skills and leave with a re-certified NRASTC valid for another 2 years — ready to continue teaching safely.

Before you book
Entry requirements
You must hold a current, in-date NRASTC (or NRASTC LIGHT) to attend. Expired awards cannot be renewed — a full course is required instead.
You'll also need to be able to:
- Swim 50m on front and back
- Be confident in deep water
- Surface-dive to the deepest part of the pool (1.85m at this venue)
- Tread water for 30 seconds
- Climb out unaided (where venue design permits)
CPD evidence required
RLSS UK requires 6 hours of Continued Professional Development within the two years since your previous assessment, covering:
- Teacher, Pool & Class Management (min 2 hrs)
- In-water pool rescue skills (min 2 hrs)
- CPR, AED & First Aid (min 2 hrs)

- Swimwear & towel (bring two if preferred)
- T-shirt/shorts to wear in the pool
- Notebook & pen
- Water bottle & snacks
- Photo ID (Driving License or Passport)
- Your current NRASTC certificate
- CPD evidence / log
